Alone in the dark tries to revive the dead genre of adventure gaming and fails. The game is an exercise in frustration because I can see the potential but there are design and technical flaws. For example the character moves like a tank and the camera never works. So when engaging enemies I don't target them. There are so many problems that will make you thrown down the controller. There are good concepts underneath but you will need the patience of a saint. 5.5/10
Good concept, good graphics and an interesting plot BUT - the controls and camera angles make this game almost unplayable in parts. I don't think I have been this frustrated with a game ever. There was talk of a patch for this game in August 08 but as of January 09 nada.
This game had a lot of promise and has a good premise, but unfortunately, horrible & frustrating controls kill the experience. The controls and main character are sluggish, which makes it difficult to handle some of the platformer-like puzzles.
On the positive side, the graphics are great -- I've never seen fire (which basically is a character in the game) so realistic, and the story line is an interesting one.
Ce jeux est d'un ennuie.. De un les contrôles sont vraiment mauvais, on ne peut se sentir dans le personnage, ça en devient frustrant. Scénario lent, trop de , je joue a un jeu, je ne regarde pas un film!
Great theme and idea but the controls not so good. The camera and controls took away from the feel of the game and intensity. Overall look and graphics of the game were great. The lighting effects were astonishing but again the controls and the slow clumsy feel of the character made it a let down.
Its a rental not a keeper.
Well, let's just say that this game is a complete waste of time. I played 2 levels and had to return it. The movie was okay, but the game does not do it any justice at all. The graphics are subpar, the acting is medicore, and the controls are god awful. This is probably one of the worst games I have played. I played the demo first and thought this might be good but not a chance. If you really want to try this one, go ahead but i would recommend STAY AWAY!!! There are much better games.
