Star Ocean: The Last Hope is the fourth entry in the long-awaited continuation of the celebrated science fiction and fantasy RPG series. This prequel set during the aftermath of World War III combines sci-fi and fantasy elements spanning multiple planets and the vastness of space itself to recount the origins of the Star Ocean Universe. Exhilarating combat expands upon the franchise's famous real-time battle system, introducing amazing graphics and next-generation visual effects.
Star Ocean continues the franchise with improved visuals, better combat (boss fights that last longer than 15 seconds are nice), but some really bad voice over work which hurts the overall story. A number of characters to play as who all have their different play styles, a lot of side quests/collection and battle trophies make this a long and content rich game. The story is its biggest failing as it is overly dramatic, taking you out of the experience. Worth a rental for RPG fans.
This game is by far one of the greatest RPG's on 360. The voice overs take some getting use to as does the rest of the game, but give it over an hour of game-play and you will be playing this one for a very long time. The story is intense, funny, and dramatic. The characters are all nicely design and have great personalities. The combat takes some getting used to but becomes more in-depth the better you get at it. If you are a die hard RPG fan, this is a game to check out. I give it a 5 out of 5
This game for those who have never played star ocean before is epic and LONG if you read the games diion and are unsure of purchaseing the game Rent it to see if you like the fell of it. other wise the voice acting is over the top, the game can some times leave you unsurtain as to whats going on if you happen to not pay attention durring cut senes/ NPC conversations. tones to do so plan to spend Hours no days on this game
