If you are not a sniping fan, you will not find alot of value in this game, but if you are a fan, then you will enjoy this game. It provids a good mix of sniping and intesne action situations, the visuals are nice, but there are glitches and visual issues. The sound is ok.The story is a joke though, so dont expect much there. The multiplayer is very enjoyable, but non sniping fans will find it boring. Snipers will enjoy the feel of searching and taking down real players. Great sniping fun.
as someone else said, if you are a sniper fan then you should rent it if not then dont. sniping skills / sniper bullet physics /wind etc are great but in some missions you have to use rifles and they suck especially if you use iron sight. but the sniping , stealth and also a cool pistol with silencer that helps you with stealth its a verry good game
The true essence to snipping is patience. Waiting for that precise moment when the wind is perfect and the enemy doesn't sense a thing. Sniper offers this true sniper feel, however shortcomings are present. While this game doesn't offer the most engaging story and is not graphically superb it definitely provides one important element: fun. Lack of cover sounds for firing is kinda missing here but all in all this game is worth the rent.
I was excited to give this game a go because i'm a fan of sniping. Unfortunately, my excitement turned to disgust when i started playing this game. Its just plain bad. you snipe people from cover and all of the enemies know where you are automatically. its ridiculous. whats worse is they can shoot you from miles away with there machine guns when they spot you. no realism whatsoever! its just plain bad.
I heard terrible things about this game from review sites. I know better than to listen to them. Figured I'd give it a try.
Graphics are pretty good. Story was simple but alright for the type of game it is. Ending was a let down for me.
The game is great for those who like to pick off their targets at long distance and take pride in the "One shot, One kill (or 2 or 3)" mentality.
I recommend people take a look at this one, especially with it's cheaper than normal release price.
I saw the trailer for this game and thought it looked really fun. I enjoy sniping in Halo, Call of Duty and Bad Company 2, so I thought I would like this game. The game starts off pretty cool. It quickly gets repetitive with the missions and environment. The graphics are good from a distance, but get close to objects and they look like the previous generation consoles. All around not a fun game. I do not recommend this.
I am a big fan of Call of Duty and I rented this game knowing it was not going to be a match, and I was right, but this game is really fun. I love sniping and this game lets you pick on them from far... Other people complain it is not realistic because the enemy uses machine guns from very far distance and kills you... but come on, you had to be very bad to be killed by them... it is fun, when I get nostalgic I will buy it...
I found this game to be quiet fun even though it has lower end graphics and the ocational Farcry spasm were the enemys can spot you in cover so thick you would need a dimond tipped drill to penitrate, but they only happen occationaly which I find makes them barable. all in all i think the game was pritty good ,it made you feel like a sniper and watching enemys trying to spot you after you "dispatched" the guy next to him is all ways fummy to watch befor "dispatching them to. solid 8.5
