Saints Row 2 takes place a few years after the original. Several new upstart gangs have been able to sweep in and make their mark on Stilwater. At the same time, a multi-national conglomerate known as the Ultor Corporation has become a pivotal player in city politics, pumping millions of dollars into rebuilding the metropolis.
I was expecting a hollow rip-off of GTA, but it's actually quite a lot better. Car controls are sharp and better mapped out. Character and gang customization is extremely good. Cars can be stored and retreived from any garage, or even delivered to you wherever you are for a nominal fee. The radio music is better, although the talk radio attempts GTA-like comedy and fails. However, GTA can't match the comedy of conquering the city as a giant transvestite with a cockney accent and dreadlocks.
This game is so much FUN! The characters are colorful and the story is fun too. The character customization is great and best of all there is many activities to do in town from throwing sewage all over buildings to protecting celebrities from crazy fans. There is just so much to do after you beat the game. There is a lot more reputability than in GTAIV, and there is co-op to have a friend join in. If you enjoyed the older GTA games then this game will make you feel right at home.
Saints row 2 while not stunning in graphics gave me hours of sweet gameplay and had story that i could have contiuned to play for hours, (which i did but it still had more for me up its sleeve) This game was great the customization was unbelivable and the multiplayer topped it off. I give this game a solid 7
This game makes the GTA series look mild, well not quite, but if you're up for some good old fashioned reckless killing, maiming and other fun, then this is the game for you with hours and hours of gameplay! Just don't show it to mom.
note - this is NOT a game for kids.
if you are old enough to enjoy killing, swearing, sex, drugs, and mindless over the top violence - then this game is for you.
it reminds me of a dumbed down GTA. its lacking the story and presentation, but it makes up for it in fun and hardcore action.
a great time waster that will have you coming back for more. just dont take it seriously.
