Record of Agarest War is a strategic turn-based RPG for play on Xbox 360 that uniquely incorporates date simulation with traditional RPG combat gameplay to create an ever-evolving story played out along in-game generational lines and that is completely dependent on the decisions and actions of the player. The game features AI party combat, character-specific as well as combined attacks, and HUD monitoring systems that keep the player apprised of both the quality of decisions and how these affect the romantic feelings of the female characters towards the player.
A turn based strategy RPG that delivers all the old used cliches and niches for the story and game play. If you can look past the poor story telling, presentation ( more text than voice overs) and graphics, there is a lot of game play here even if it brings nothing new at all. A rent only for the hardcore strategy fans.
there are NO English voices in this game. that tells you how much they felt this game was worth right off the bat. no hints as to the results of choices you will make, and a minuscule reward for the end of each chapter if one can even call a subtitled cut-scene featuring dialogue too schmaltzy for hallmark cards a reward. and the battle system is so tedious there's an autopilot feature for it. they REALIZED how time consuming and repetitive it is, but forget fixing it. a time pit if i ever saw 1
