ME2 is technically superior to its predecessor in every way i.e. Graphics, Game Mechanics. However, the story is very short and the game is mostly comprised of finding teammates for the final suicide mission and doing loyalty quests. The characters though are very well developed and all unique in their own way. Mass Effect 2 is an excellent game still and I recommend you play the original game first.
I love the ME games. The first one was a great story and the fighting was great, the background on the characters and races was unbelievable. This was improved in every way, the gameplay is much better, the story is even more intense and so much time is put into this game it is unreal. This series is a must play just for the story alone! Play them in order using one character and enjoy your choices being followed through to the end! A must play for any gamer.
Part 2 has been heavily modified; I remember saying to myself the last 2 hours of ME1 being amazing and that is what ME2 is; A lot more focus on shooting and less so on dialogue. The fighting mechanics is heavily inspired by GOW, you will be shooting from cover but will have special powers. Story is amazing but short. Highly recommended but play ME1 first! ME2 uses save data from ME1.
Once again Bioware has used the same repeat method to all of their games and still comes out with a stellar game. I love the formula they have down and they know how to play off it to make each of the games unique in it's own way. This game is no exception and is a must play.
The game feels really solid. Lots to do and is very engrossing. One thing i miss from the first one is how you could hop in a vehicle a explore planets, none of that here. My main issue is that you spend about 80% of the game searching for recruits and 20% actually fighting the seekers.
The game, in all, is one of the best games I've played this year (2010) but I didn't like the new way of gathering resources and the fact that I couldn't sell any of the excess that I mined. Either than that the game is very well put together and a great story and ending. I would recommend this game for anyone that wants a good game that is able to keep them happy for a number of weeks (if you play a few hours a day).
All I gotta say about this game is AMAZING!!!! I played Mass Effect 1 and thought to my self what a waste of time and money. I'll admit the graphics were decent but the whole layout i felt sucked! Mass Effect 2 on the other hand rocked my world. From the moment I received it in the mail from "Game Access" I couldn't put it down. Everything about the game was 100% way better then the original, and Im kinda bummed out that I'm returning it. Great Game I feel it is a must have.
ME2 blew me away on every level, particularly with regard to how seamlessly the events of the first game (including your choices, from big to small) are integrated into ME2. The RPG experience is watered down and it was jarring at first, but the game works without it and I don't really miss managing a complex inventory, as it leaves more time to focus on the story. A can't miss title!
Je suis à 6h de jeu et jusqu'à maintenant Mass Effect 2 ne m'a pas déçu. J'ai utilisé une partie sauvegardée du 1er et les liens entre les 2 jeux sont bien fait. J'aime bien l'option d'interrompre une conversation pour être soit "Paragon" ou "Renegade", pas seulement des choix de texte. L'interaction avec les personnages est bonne et il est plaisant de revoir certains personnages du premier jeu.
Then you will probably enjoy this title. Its pretty much the same game with a finely tuned combat system that is eviscerating and really draws you in. The classes this type around are highly diverse as well. However, personally I felt the story, side quests, and progression through the game was a little boring and stagnant. Its not Oblivion or FO3, but it doesn't try to be. Worth a rent.
If you like to shoot like to talk like to scan planets and then talk and shoot some more then this is the game for you I'm bored of shooters I thought mass effect would be a new breed of game but they just watered down the first and added a bigger but still not so big universe.
Not sure what all the hype was all about in the media. This game, imo, not only was yet another shooter in the EXTREMELY over saturated shooter market, but it sucked. Not sure if I am bored to tears with shooters, or if this game was really this bad, but I just could not get into it. Now, to boot, it is not even a 360 exclusive. Was not the worst game ever,but it certainly is forgettable. Imo, of course.
