I played the demo and it was getting boring, and I was timed 10 minutes so I bought the game and was surprised how different it was from the demo. the story was amazing. RENT THIS GAME
this game strted out great but then when it progressed to the 1950s the missions were really boring - driving 15 mins to deliver cigarettes to some guys.
The Story and the city is simply breath-taking though the only complaints i have is that it's too short and the DLCs are crappy.
Definately recommended though.
Having played this game all the way through, would say is definitely worth a rent. Pros included the graphics, soundtrack on the radio station and the overall ambience and voice acting. I enjoyed the story as well. The only real con I can think of was that sometimes the jerky video during some of the cutscenes. Very solid game.
Pro's: Sharp story, great gunfights, graphics CAN be good, and a decent length (15 hours)
Con's: terrible police AI, small restrictive sandbox world, little replay value, buggy graphics.
6.5/10
After playing the demo, I was really worried about the controls and frame rate, but I gave the game a chance anyways.
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Bugs, awful character models, and STILL jittery frame rate aside, the atmosphere is fantastic and the story is genuinely interesting.
The controls have somehow improved dramatically from the demo as well. Definitely worth a rent!
I enjoyed this game a lot the combat and story are all very fun. Driving all of the old cars is cool and customizing them is fun as well. There was not a lot to do in the world when you weren't playing the story. It is a very big map but not a lot to do. This game is worth a rent if you grand theft auto type games
Excellent game. Voice acting was the best of any game I have played to date. Story was also intriguing and kept me hooked. Nice change of pace, from all the other cookie cutter fps of late.
I made 3/4 of the way through and the game froze. I tried three different disks and it was a no-go. What I did play was fun, and there are some missions in there that I wanted to play two or three times.
Worth a rental.
I really enjoyed this game. After playing much of the same open world concept type of game that have become all the same, this was a breath of fresh air. The visuals and music really make you feel like you're back in the good ol' days, and the controls as far as game play are concerned feel solid. My only complaint would be the huge amounts of driving errands that are required before you reach a real action scene.
None the less, I would strongly recommend giving this game a shot.
Mafia 2 to the people who haven't played it before comes across as a very GTA style sandbox game. But it is a very good game non-the-less, its half decent graphics combinded with a 1950 setting combines to make a sandbox game like never before. With very easy to use controls, a very good story line with a few twists, and tons of side missions this game could keep you entertained for days. I rate this game 8/10
I like this game a lot. The story was very good you'll love the character like joe. Aiming system aint bad for a sandbox game. Easy achievement.
You can even download some DLC and play the story as joe, get new car, new clothes ... but DLC are little bit expensive 800 ms story, 240 cars and clothes.
Just a near flawless game. The only bad part is their aren't really any side missions to do and it's purely storyline but the storyline is very long and pretty challenging which makes up for the lack of side missions. Graphics are great, storyline is amazing and just an overall amazing game.
The story intrigued me till then end, but the end was pretty lame. The controls and graphics were good, but why have an open world when theres no side missions?
Awesome Game the story line is unbeliveably good full of suspense and mystery the game really captured the essence of the time period. it is like a time capsule from the 1914's to the 1930's for example inthe story line once you hit a certain date, the cars, and the peoples clothing suddenly changes to the 30's. If you like GTA series games you'll love this.
The story is fantastic. The cutscenes are fantastic. The characters are fantastic. Achievements are fantastic. Graphics are fantastic. Collectibles are fantastic.
It'd be a 10/10 if it weren't for the frustrating checkpoints. Loved the game though, a decent challenge on Hard mode.
