The Xbox 360's first Japnese RPG places you in the control of Atsuma, who early in his adventure manages to inadvertently open a seal which revives the fierce Devil Golem. You'll make use of Golem support characters as you work through the game's strategic battle system. The game has over 100 Golems which can be assembled using ingredient items. Characters can be customized using the "SP" experience points that you gain in battle. As the story develops, players face increasingly difficult challenges and learn to master Atsuma's special fighting and magical abilities.
This game brings a different way to battle in RPG's. Gameplay is getting pretty fun. If your looking for a long RPG, this would be it. 40+ hours to beat the game. It's just an OK game. Worth a rent. 3/5
It doesn't do anything wrong but it doesn't do anything great. I can't help but say to myself when playing that everything is just so mediocre. Storyline, gameplay, and graphics are all just O.K.
Not a great game, but solid. Storyline is somewhat average, nothing really noteworthy. Cinematics are absolutely awe-inspiring though. Does get somewhat tedious after awhile. Achievements are easy, just play through the campaign to get them. Final boss battle is epic, and very challenging (maybe too much so). Long game, takes on the order of 40-ish hours to complete. Worth a rental. 3/5
This is one of those games I would always say rent, don't buy. It's your average Japanese turn based RPG. It's fun for a while and then I find it gets pretty tedious. Still, I plan to rent this again sometime to finish it. The story wasn't great, but I still felt I wanted to know what happened next. I'd recommend this game as a rental, but it's not the greatest RPG ever.
This is a game about a guy who has - oddly enough - an enchanted arm. His ARM is ENCHANTED. That's about all I was really able to figure out in the short time I spent with this game.. with no manual, I never got the hang of the combat system (a turn-based grid-system that might be more familiar to JRPG aficionados.. I had NO clue what was going on). People either love this game or hate it. I was expecting a more traditional RPG, and fell into the latter group. JRPG lovers might really like it.
Despite the sub-par look of the model and texture as well as animation (I wouldn't say awful since I've seen worse) this game is worth a mention as one solid RPG that succeeded in one aspect ... "Dialogue", the as well as the original Japanese voice overs made this game one of the funniest in JRPG (it's like reading manga) ... Story is mediocre but the battle in EA was one hidden gem which need strategy planning and really fun
