Featuring the most revealing display of Kojima Production's premier title, MSG4 details the world where Snake must under go his final mission. In a world overrun by private military companies (PMCs), wars are no longer fought over nations or ideologies. Instead, the wars of the future are micro-managed by overarching PMCs, right down to the bullet. New gadgets and abilities fuel Snake's journey deep into the enemy domains of the Middle East, South America, and beyond.
MSG4 has been a long time coming and it doesnt disappoint. You're given a ton of tools and customizable weapons to complete your missions. Amazing graphics, environments that just beg to be destroyed, a cool yet sometimes garbled story that talks way too much at times ( 20 minutes till you get to shoot someone) and some really fun boss fights makes this game a must play. Online play is fun as well but won't make you forget about Call of Duty/Halo. Replay value is in the unlockables.
Let me start with the one glaring flaw in this game. While the story is somewhat interesting and more complex than most games the dialogue is badly paced and poorly written. There are a few good moments in the cut scenes, however it's when it's following action movie conventions. With that said, the gameplay is an awesome mix of shooting, stealth, boss battles, and unique sequences of which there are many, especially in the latter half. Graphics 10, Story 7.5, Dialogue 6.5, Gameplay 9
This game is a digital masterpiece. I'm assured that this game is still the epogee of it's class even if you didn't play the last games, although if you did, it's like playing a movie :)
although gameplay is good, it doesn't exist. for every 30 min of gameplay, you have to watch 2 hours of footage. Unbelievable!!! it will drive you crazy. THIS IS NOT A VIDEO GAME. IT HAS VIDEO BUT NO GAME! WHAT A SHAME!!!
advice: watch a series of star trek or something, same experience.
I played the first Metal Gear Solid game, and none other until this one. MGS4 makes no sense if you haven't played 2, 3, etc. The story will make no sense and this game is all about story. About 75% is cut scenes. I gave up when I watched a 15 minute cut scene, jumped down an elevator shaft and then watched a 25 minute cut scene. This is fan service in my opinion.
