Survival horror as its never been seen before. The House of the Dead: OVERKILL is a pulp-style take on the classic SEGA light-gun shooter series. Back when the famous Agent G was fresh out of the academy, he teamed up with hard-boiled bad-ass Agent Washington to investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana. Little did they know what blood-soaked mutant horror awaited them in the streets and swamps of Bayou City.
An OK shooter... The Wii-mote shooting action was solid, however the game didn't hold my interest for an extended period of time.
Lots of bad guys to shoot, but the backrounds somehow felt lifeless.
The cutscenes were pretty funny.
Ho-Hum, House of the Dead. 6.5 / 10
Keep this game out of sight/reach of children because this game contains more swears then a Samuel L. Jackson movie-o-thon. Oh and it's violent. House of the Dead Overkill is an over the top gun shooting game with a cheesy 80's horror presentation. For the mature audiences this game is perfect for anybody who wants to shoot something up or maybe just laugh there heads off at the dialog. This is a must get for anyone who is a fan of the House of The Dead games or any games alike it.
8.5 !
Overkill borrows a page from the film Grindhouse for its stylistic presentation and violence. The sinister environments are well-designed as you traverse it rail-style. The Wii is certainly the platform to go for this type of arcade shooter because it genuinely feels like the monotonous The House of the Dead games we grew up enjoying. The over-the-top protagonists and the boss fights give way to an entertaining experience.
C'est stupidement violent! Mais ça défoule! On peut même jouer a 2, les armes déchirent, ça gicle, ça crie, mais ça reste rigolo!
Bref si vous aimez le gore, c'est fait pour vous!
