The Lord of the Rings: Conquest puts players into the thick of the tremendous battle over The One Ring, playing out battles from both sides of the confrontation! Conquest will let players take control of many of the characters and creatures from the series and pit them on any of the franchise's famous battlefields. From Cave-trolls to Oliphaunts to the Balrog and even Sauron, practically the entire universe will be available for battle with up to 150 characters on-screen at any one time. Up to 16 players will be able to clash online, with four players able to play cooperatively through the main campaign either online or via four-player split-screen. And with two distinct campaigns to play through, including an original take on what would happen if Sauron regained control of the One Ring, the game promises plenty of scenarios to wage battle through.
I'm not a huge fan of multiplayer on the console, so I played the single player campaign. It was very short, I beat both good and bad campaigns in about 8 hours, and played a couple more just to get some achievements. It's very short, and only mildly amusing. If you only have a one game out plan, don't waste your pick.
This game did what it set out to do, which was re-create the battlefront series in the middle earth, it gives you a few fun moments but other then that the single player campaign does nothing but waste your time. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. i give this game a 4/10
Conquest is a third person action game with the emphasis set on multiplayer in the same vain as the Star Wars Battlefront series. Actually its pretty much the exact same thing except swords instead of lazors. The single player is short and lackluster, though it does allow you to be the bad guys and kill hobbits. The controls are stiff and the mechanics don't feel polished at all. Mutliplayer isnt much fun along with no real ranking system. Not worth your time, try the Battlefront series instead
