if you have played starbreeze's previous game, Riddick for the xbox, this game is done from the same design perspective. At its heart the game is a standard shooter with special darkness powers. Visually and aurally the game is impressive to behold, the story is well told, and the game is well crafted. The only criticism is towards the small levels. Overall this is an exceptionally well made standard shooter.
The Darkness in my opinion is definetly worth a rental. The pros for it are: fun gameplay (between controlling the darkness powers and darklings), good controls (well mapped out and make sence) and a good story (with an interesting twist). On the negative side the multi player is not very strong, its not the prettiest game to look at, its fairly liner to progress the story, and the map system is not that great in certain sections of the game.
Pretty fun ripping hearts outta guys using your evil twin hell snakes. After the 100th or so guy though, you find yourself wanting more. I failed to find the skill required for this game, it just seemed to be GOD vs the Mob. Fun for a bit, try it out.
I found the Darkness to be a enjoyable game with incredible graphics. As with the other reviewers it was good but not great. The lack of need for other weaponry made me wanting a little more. The story, vioce acting and graphics were all top notch. It would deffinatly be worth picking up as a rental but I wouldn'y want to buy it myself.
