My first hour with this game was dissapointing, because I expected it to be like other fighting games - learn combos and flashy special moves, and master stringing them together. I found the game very difficult to play until I realised I was approaching it the wrong way. Mastering your basic attacks and when to block vs. when to strike is much more important than flash. The game is a real test of skill, rather than a who-remembers-the-most-combos match like other fighting games.
It's a great fighting game... the graphics are awesome, but it's still too much effort required to unlock characters, and not much variation on the gameplay. Fighting online doesn't hurt, but it's again no change in gameplay... would buy for less than $30
I must say that number four was a sad dissappointment. My bigest complaint was that when you put in the game and just want to start with a simple CPU match to learn the controls, you are interupted by online opponents jumping in. It took a little time for me to even find the setting to dissable this. All in all I was dissapointed and would only give it a 3/10, some may like this game and I wish them well in playing it.
I think my title pretty much describes this game. It is definitely an awesome game, and brings back many great memories of playing Street Fighter when I was young, but at the same time bring back all the bad memories and the frustration of not getting the combos on the exact time.
Still worth a rental for sure!
I was excited to play this game but was disappointed when I got it and began to play. The game is nothing more than a mash the buttons as fast as possible fighting game.
There wasn't much depth considering how the opponents just whoop ya with their fancy moves before you have a chance to actually make the combo's work.
Overall this was just another basic fighting game with great visuals and no substance. I didn't find enough value in this game to purchase my own copy.
