Civilization: Revolution is a console adaptation of the popular Civilization PC franchise. You take your colony from 3000BC up to space travel. The 360 incarnation of Civilization leaves lots of strategy for hardcore fans and at the same time the game is accessible to new comers who aren't as adept at managing their own civilization.Unit structure and city building is still at the heart of the game but everything has been streamlined remarkably well.This has its ups and downs but for the most part its welcomed from the PC Civilization games.This game boasts addictive play and is more than worth your time as either a rental or a purchase
I have been waiting for a really good RTS game for a console. Finally one has arrived. At first I thought the animations were a little immature but I ended up enjoying them. I was also worried the games would take forever to complete but, they ended up being a perfect length of game play. The game possibilities are endless. The amount backround info is endless. I hope this game opens up this genre for the 360. Great job Sid!!!
The online in this game is terrible! Most opponents in the online aspect will know how to freeze the game when they are losing, forcing you into a loss and can waste alot of time in gaming. I'v personally seen the game either glitch out or freeze (online) tons of times and in some cases 3+ hour long games get ruined due to this flaw. Offline is a pretty good game but if you want this for online its not the game for you.
Playing through this game is an enjoyable experience. With many civilizations with special abilities each to their own this game can be played over and over. Definitely a game to rent.
I've been itching to try this game ever since I first saw screenshots of it. I've spent countless hours in the original PC Civilization games, all the way from Civ 1 to Civ 4, and this version is just right for a few hours of global domination fun. Some cool new features and simplifications for the hardcore fan and the beginner. Definitely try it!
I have put a lot of hours into the PC version of Civ 4, and i can tell you without a doubt, this console version definitely lives up to the Civ name. it is a lot easier to jump into and a lot less detailed that its PC counterpart. You can sit back and throw hours into this one and not worry about being overwhelmed. A great rental for any strategy-game buff or Civ fan out there.
