Developed by tri-Ace, known for the Star Ocean series, Resonance of Fate is a futuristic gun battle RPG in the vein of Parasite Eve. The game takes place entirely in a colossal machine-city called Burzel, whose millions of citizens subscribe to an (as yet unnamed) monotheistic religion. Gameplay has fields built with hexes, recalling an old-school strategy game like Military Madness. Dungeons, however, play out in traditional third-person, and enemy encounters are seamless.
RoF will keep your RPG craves under control. Challenging combat system and strategic based gameplay might seem too difficult for newcomer but once you get used to the game, you will love this game just as the way you loved Shadow Hearts or SMT series. Story is interesting and the game looks good although the sepia tone might look dull to some gamers. It packs with both Eng and Jap voices. ***Steep learning curve***
