Lost Odyssey simply is a classic JRPG, complete with turn-based combat, impressive cinema, and a storyline that really hooks you. It is also very difficult for JRPG beginners, so be ready to read hints for help of you're new. The dreams are very touching, but if reading isn't your thing they can also be skipped without consequence. WIth the time investment required it's a good buy if you want to relive the classic JRPG, but may be daunting if you're a beginner looking to get into the genre.
There are other good RPGs for the 360, but this one will be remembered as a classic on any console. It has all of the elements that made the Final Fantasy titles so popular and enjoyable, with stunning graphics, a captivating story, and fun game play.
The only down side I could find to the game was the lack of scaled encounters which is getting to be the norm in modern RPGs. If you level-up early, you might find the game too easy later.
Lost Odyssey makes me feel that I have gone back in time and that's a good thing! With so many RPG's trying to set them self from the pack, they some times seem to lose what I grew up with and love. Not to say that I don't want the genre to evolve, but it is nice to see a classic RPG with next gen graphics. If your looking for a stroll down memory lane? Then this might just be the right road for you to walk down.
