Your world…Your rules! In Just Cause, you are a Latin field operative and specialist in regime change backed by top secret US government agency who will overthrow the corrupt government of San Esperito. The rogue South American state is suspected of stockpiling Weapons of Mass Destruction, and it's your mission to negate the threat this poses to world peace. It could be to your advantage that the tropical paradise is about to implode as various factions vie for power - it just needs a gentle nudge in the right direction. Just Cause offers the freedom to tackle your assignments however you want: playing the island's factions against one another, inciting a rebellion among the masses and building alliances with rebel forces and drug cartels. The action takes place in an incredibly detailed game world which consists of over 250,000 acres of mountains, jungles, beaches, cities and villages. The island can be explored by land, sea and air, as you will have at your disposal one of the most varied and exciting array of vehicles ever seen in a video game.
The main storyline was pretty generic, but playing it was fun. The side missions and take over missions are plentiful, but doing them gets pretty tedious as they are all the same. The most fun to be had in this game is just screwing around. I loved taking a helicopter up as high as I could (which is really high) and jumping out so I could free fall for a long time. The graphics are beautiful, although slightly over the top. This is a really solid rental in my opinion.
Just a GTA game that goes to the Carribean, not much surprise if you think in thoses terms. I only really enjoyed game coz it reminded me of my favorite place I go on earth..the Philippines, other than that it was repetive, not that challenging but with tremdous graphics and a great organic feel to it.It is a great visual game. However not very stimulating gameplay, crashs scenes are amazing. This just a visual game, nothing more than that. On that bases it merits a 6.5.
I played the Just Cause demo when it was first released and was dissapointed. I didnt like the controls and it seemed like a pale imitation of the GTA series. I took another look when I started seeing trailers for Just Cause 2 come out. JC1, is a decent open world mission based game, similar to GTA. However unlike GTA, the focus is much more on stunts and looking badass then the story. In this area the game succeeds. It could use a bit more polishing, but is a fun (but short) adventure.
