In many ways DA2 is a step back from DA1- more linear, less exploration, simple dialogue, less interesting characters and story. However, on its own, it is a decent action RPG and worth a rental.
The Game had a lot of good elements, although the storyline and character itself, were within a very narrow scope, which I found took away from some enjoyment. Once you look past that, the game has a lot to keep you busy, the relationship possibilities and dialogue are classic Bioware. Combat follows its predecessor. As for a sequel, it was lacking but I'm hoping for the third to be better. Makes me miss KOTOR. If you like the genre, then this game is definitely worth one play-through.
Always been a huge bioware fan since the Baldurs gate days. Thought Dragon Age was a great game with decent replay value. Had trouble spending more than a few minutes at a time with the sequel. Interactions and story seemed very forced and the graphics dated.
Overall not very impressed
Dragon Age 1 was way better since it was different from other games at the time. DA2 modifies the DA1 formula to make it more linear and giving it a HORRIBLE story. Rent it, but I played DA1 for ten times longer than this game.
