In Dante's Inferno, players will assume the role of Dante as he travels on an epic descent through Dante Alighieri's nine circles of Hell - limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Dante's journey is driven by his desire to reclaim the soul of his beloved Beatrice after she is dragged through the gates of hell by Lucifer. This new story is the wrapper to a smooth, fast-paced action adventure game that delivers a deep, fully customizable combat system with holy and unholy choices, innovative level design, imaginative puzzles, and best-in-class boss battles, all running at 60 frames per second.

It's not a bad game, but it's not a great game either. Very much a god of war style game and it becomes very repetitive with time.
you like God of war, you like this 8/10

nice to finally see a pretty awesome 800 year old poem get game-ified and they do it very well. Nice depiction of hell without the things quickly coming out and screaming at the camera to scare the hell out of you. Great story nicely told and i really hope for a sequel.
If you like God of War 8/10

I was feeling pretty good about this title, unfortunately so much is wrong with it. The games storyline is incredibly juvenile and predictable in nearly every way. The gameplay is stiff causing lots of unnecessary deaths which then require the player re-play significant portions. The graphics are very disturbing, which is the point, but lack a lot of high quality. If you really want a hack and slash on the XBox 360, I'd recommend Bayonetta.

I was looking forward to Dante's Inferno from the moment I saw it at E3 2009. However, this game is a terrible God of War rip-off. Enemies re-spawn while you are trying to do puzzles, the platforming can be difficult and there is many cheap deaths i.e. falling into lava, being knocked down by spikes etc. There is also a TON of nudity in this game and some disturbing images. It is a very short game maybe around 8 to 10hrs and not much replay value.
