Developed by award-winning Monolith Productions for the next-generation consoles and PC, Condemned allows players to experience an unnatural level of psychological tension as they use their instincts, forensic tools, and melee combat to track serial killers and bring them to justice. Gamers will play as Ethan Thomas, an FBI agent in the Serial Crimes Unit (SCU), whose pursuit of relentless serial killers leads him through detailed urban environments filled with socio-paths who lurk on the periphery of humanity.
As a 360 launch title, this game continues to be fun to play. I haven't touched it in a year and am getting it soon again to get those last few achievements.
The melee is some of the best I've seen in an FPS; the sound effects simply frost the cake in this instance.
There is a lot of shock value in this game.
Again, hard to believe this is a launch title. Try this if you haven't and keep and eye out for the annouced sequel.
This game creeped me right out. The first couple of days I had this I couldn't bring myself to play it. I would be sitting by myself in the dark trying to play it on the projector and I'd just about pee myself lol. Eventually I got over that, but the game is very good at scaring you. I definately think you should rent this. I'm going to rent it again to replay the game because I love it.
This is an atmospheric FPS that is good but not great. The levels are repetitive with few enemies and laughably bad AI. Graphics are decent. The story is sophmoric. Having said all of that, the game is interesting and fun for the 5-10 hours it takes to play through the campaign. Achievements are extremely easy to get, although too many of them involve finding collectables. Certainly worth renting, I wouldn't buy it.
