The follow-up to the #1 next-generation game, Call of Duty 3 delivers the intensity of being closer than ever to the fury of combat during the Normandy Breakout, the historic campaign that made the liberation of Paris possible and brought the Allies a step closer to Berlin. Through a seamless narrative that delivers the rush of unrelenting battle and breathtaking action, players assume the roles of four ordinary Allied soldiers-American, British, Canadian and Polish-and are thrust onto an authentic, living battlefield for an unprecedented variety of combat, with advanced high-definition graphics, detailed character animations and explosive on-screen action, delivering the most immersive and cinematically intense war experience ever.
Call of Duty 3 is a rental at best. The game just does not look as good as call of duty 2, the action although has its moments of excitement it not as well paced or as interesting as call of duty 2. I played thought the single player campain once and unlike call of duty 2 have no interest in returning to play again. There's nothing really wrong with the game it's just very unexciting and probably why call of duty 4 was never released by them. Again rent only.
This was one of the few CoD games not done by Infinity Ward and it shows. Single player campaign is tedious, frustrating, and completely unenjoyable. Poor controls. Cheap AI. Very much a step down from CoD2. Graphics are very good on the whole. Multiplayer is pretty good when you get a good group of people together (although nothing innovative). Achievements are some of the worst I've seen, "General" wil take months of regular playing to get. 2/5 from me.
Call of Duty 3 takes you back to the war that never stops - WWII. Aside from the graphical enhancement, and few game play tweaks, the game plays and feels very similar to the original. If you loved COD2, this is a must play.
This game could have been much better. I guess the game itself was not too bad, but I got it just after it came out (rented) and it was so full of bugs that by the time I finished it I never ever wanted to play it again. I have read that there was a patch though so the game could be good now. The game is kind of fun though so if it's been patched I would say rent it. The online was fun, but there weren't many people at the time that I had it. The different classes were pretty fun.
Call of Duty 3 on Xbox 360 is simply incredible. The graphics have also improved comapred to COD 2 and the online play has reached new levels. Fight up to 24 at a time on live games with tons of different games and new features such as special abilities (air strikes etc).
In my book this game is a 9/10. The only reason I won't give it 10 is that the offline multiplayer is very boring due to lack of players, 2 on 2 on huge maps ain't too fun.
Let's get this out of the way, call of duty 3 was not made by Infinity Ward, the team behind the excellent COD2. This game retains the overall feel of 2 but the design here is amateurish and sloppy. Bad checkpoints, uneven difficulty, bugs galore and infinitely spawning ennemies just bring it down. The graphics and sound are nice but otherwise there just isn't anything worth checking out here. Pass.
First of all, if you liked COD 2, you'll like this. The controls and gameplay are almost exactly the same, but are still fun. The graphics are incredibly immersive the and the music and sound effects are nothing short of epic. Online multiplayer is good in theory, but there are few players now. Still, it's worth renting for the single player campaign, at the very least. You won't be disappointed.
Fun campaign, graphics are pretty good, could improve a little. Multiplayer fun, good also improve. Finding matches takes awhile, 3mins-6mins. Sound great. 4/5
I played through COD and COD 2 on the PC, thought I would give this a try on XBOX 360 but I am not a fan of shooting with a gamepad. Game is very well done though, beautiful graphics, nice sound and solid multiplayer, I just got tired of WW2 all hell break loose shooters.
