Get ready to plunge into the lush and deadly world of the Italian Renaissance, an era of arts, riches and murderous conspiracy. Assassin's Creed II introduces you to Ezio, a new assassin carrying on the deadly lineage of his forebears. Confront an epic tale of power and corruption as you hone your assassin's art, wielding weapons and instruments designed by the legendary Leonardo da Vinci himself in this gripping and deadly sequel.
Assassin's Creed II is the sequel to Assassin's Creed. While you don't need to have played the original it helps to understand the story. While the original had many flaws i.e. guards chasing you forever. AC2 fixes many of those flaws that made the original more annoying to play. The missions offer now more variety and aren't simple side quests to get to your main targets like in the original. This game is has an excellent story and must be played even if you didn't enjoy the original.
Purchased Assassins' creed back in 2007 - loved it. When I saw the sequel was being released , HAD to try it.
Story mechanics much improved over first. Game mechanics felt the same albeit a bit more mature. Some gimmicks that they try to tout as being "amazing changes" such as Davinci's flying machine (which are duds in my opinion). The ending was interesting, but basically disappointing. I hope they go somewhere with that silly SiFi plot. (I'd rate it 4/5)
If you liked the first one, you'll like this one, as the gameplay is essentially the same. Good, but short and easy. (most of the difficulty is derived from bad controls) I got all 1000 gamerscore in 20 hrs. Glad I rented it.
Assassin's Creed II is a game that obviously received a lot of attention during its development, as everything it has to offer is far superior to its first offering. Renaissance Italy is an intriguing place, and the gameplay is addicting. Take it from a serious sceptic, this game has it where it counts, and then some.
Compared to the first installment of the game they made it more various and less modular / predictable therefore making the immersion in the story better.
They added cool equipment and like the first installment its always fun to climb to new heights and dive in a bail of hay!
I played Assassins Creed 1 2 weeks before playing this one. And like all the reviews said, that game was repetitive and with a few design changes it could have been amazing. Well here comes part 2. They fixed all the problems from the first game. The side quests are fun and the main quests are all playable without doing any of the side ones. Great game I give it a 9/10, so far it's my game of the year.
