On the eve of the Cuban revolution, a major mob meeting in Havana takes a bloody turn. The Don of your family is killed, and you must take the reigns and lead your battered organization. Success breeds opportunity, so when Michael Corleone comes under investigation by a Senate Committee on Organized Crime, the Corleone Family calls upon you to reestablish its operation in New York and expand into a new territory -- Miami. Build up your arsenal, build alliances, and make whatever deals you need to as you fight off attacks and strike back at your rivals. There'll be a price on your head and a target on your back, but don't take it personally. After all, it's only business.
If it weren't for The Godfather licensing, this game would probably be lost amongst the numerous GTA-clones out there. It's very similar in feel to GTA, but the mafia aspect adds a great twist to it. As a Don, you can create your business empire from scratch, recruit made men, and eliminate your competition in various - and brutal - ways. A tad on the easy side, but a solid experience overall. A definite improvement on the first game.
Repetition is the main complaint here. Too many hits and takeovers that seem too similar to each other. I had lots of fun at the beginning but it steadily wore thin for me towards the end. The online mode was functional though it similarly lacked variety. Godfather II is an ok rental if you want to be a badass for a day. 7.0/10
This game was hyped up to be alot more than it is. I bought this game on release day, and I felt it was a good game, but after having got my platinum within 2 days, I changed my mind. They could have made it a little harder to get your platinum trophy.... all in all, it was fun to play for awhile, but has barely any replay value, as the only fun thing about it AFTER 1 playthrough is the multiplayer, and even that gets old. I give it a 6/10
First off, the game has a lot of violence and nudity so make sure if you have kids you take appropriate action. Having saying that, this game is actually pretty fun and hilarious to play because of the dialogue and the executions you can do. A relatively short game and easy platinum.
This game for me was very fun. Just like GTA but I really liked the idea of taking over businesses for money and hiring guards. Storyline was pretty good also.
A bit on the easy side though.
Feels like GTA but the story of the game is awesome. This is a rental for sure! If you want to see some topless video game girls then this is your game. I hope they make a 3rd one...
