Emotionally charged, stunningly beautiful and delivering unprecedented dramatic character performance, Heavenly Sword showcases the power of PLAYSTATION 3. A dramatic tale of revenge sees Nariko, a fiery red-haired heroine embark on a quest for vengeance against an invading King and his army. The story builds around the ancient Heavenly Sword which once belonged to a powerful deity. It can never be wielded by a mortal without it draining their life-force, killing them within hours. When the invading King (played by Andy Serkis) destroys the warrior clan that guards the Heavenly Sword, the clan leader's daughter, Nariko, takes up the sword in a desperate fight for survival. Nariko must now pay the ultimate price as she embarks on one last mission of vengeance against the King and his army before her life is finally drawn to a close… Andy Serkis, the world's leading CG actor, famous for his roles as Gollum in “The Lord of the Rings” and Kong in “King Kong”, was heavily involved in the creative process. As well as starring in Heavenly Sword as the villain, King Botan, Andy was a major contributor to the character development, writing, casting, directing and performance capture for the PLAYSTATION 3 game.
Short but sweet is the best way to describe this one. A few sessions and you'll be done but it's worth the play through. Fans of God of War will instantly love this one. It clearly borrows from that franchise. Great visuals but what amazed me the most though is the acting. This has to be one of the best voice acted games I've seen in recent years. It saddens me to have it end so quickly. Every character is believable and give so much feeling I sometimes got chills. A recommended rental!
Heavenly Sword is a game that can be completed in less than 6 hours, but in this case it works to the game's advantage. The game is over before the mechanics get tiresome, which happens all too often in these types of action games. The "press this button now" minigames from God of War show up here, but are thankfully far more forgiving and less frequent. The highlight of the game though is the cinematic work, with some of the best animation to be seen in a game to date. Worth a rental.
Heavenly Sword is an action game that is similar to Devil May Cry and God of War. It features great action, a fairly deep yet accessible combat system and some cool motion controlled mini-games. It's on the short side at around 7 hours. The graphics and animations are some of the best I've seen. The main villain in particular is very well voiced and animated. It was worth playing and while it may fall a little short of excellence, it's still very good.
Heavenly Sword is one of my favorite games for the playstation 3. The storyline is fairly short, but it has interesting characters, some of the best voice acting I've seen in a game yet, and beautiful graphics. This is definitely worth a rental for any playstation 3 owner.
This game is rich with good CG cutscenes, 'overall' good combat mechanics, and a profound story told from the end of the game as the beginning. To enjoy this game, don't mind the weak AI, short play-through, and God of War'esqe button games. Just sit back and enjoy as if you were watching and playing a part in an epic movie all at once.
The glaring flaw in this game is the combat system which seems designed to display smooth animations at the expense of responsive controls, and combos which are more button mashing than anything else. It's not horrible but merely decent. There are a few irritating sequences with the motion controls but others like aiming arrows mid flight are surprisingly fun. The graphics are a system showcase and the acting/expressiveness of characters is the best I've seen in a game.
a little on the short side as everyone says but it was awsome. best cut scenes ive seen in any game yet. i hope they make a sequel. somewhat of a hack and slash but way more fun and technical. if it isnt in ur lineup. put it on
This is one of the best looking games I've ever played. The gameplay in great, a lot like God of War, altho I would say Heavenly Sword is much better. The visuals and the sound are better than anything I've seen. It's a little short but deffinatly replayable. Rent it, Buy it but if you own a ps3 don't miss out. If you don't this may be time to consider getting one.
