After a full-scale alien attack on Washington D.C., suspicions arise as to the involvement of the U.S. government. Armed with sci-fi gadgets and high-powered weapons, players will battle aliens, rogue agents and enemy forces as a former secret service agent codenamed Mr. Ford. Built exclusively for Wii, The Conduit pushes the boundaries of the platform from incredible award-winning graphics to robust controls that are customizable on-the-fly. This action-packed, first-person shooter from the creators at High Voltage Software also supports the Wii Speak peripheral.
I only played this game for an hour because it wasn't holding my interest. What I saw was unpolished, buggy, and the voice acting was sometimes annoying. The one multiplayer match I tried took a good 5 minutes to connect and then the game spawned me inside a wall and I had to reboot the machine. I just can't understand these other reviews... was this the first FPS these people have ever played? The novel control scheme is not enough to save this game in my opinion.
The control scheme is so effective that the combination of Remote + Nunchuk surpasses that of the combination of mouse + keyboard of computer games. Not only does the game deserve the praise for its technical achievements, which include amazing graphics and audio, but the story is also well written, staying true to the common themes of the science-fiction genre. Although the last couple missions become somewhat stale, the plot and dialogue keeps The Conduit intriguing to the end.
