Punch-Out!! features multiple controller options. For players looking to take advantage of the Wii's motion control capabilities, Punch-Out!! uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuck controllers to simulate throwing punches. Use the Nunchuck to throw a left punch and the Wii Remote to throw a right punch. Fans of the NES version and core gamers will be excited to see Nintendo has also included the option to play Punch-Out!! using the classic layout from the original NES controller. Use the 1 and 2 buttons along with the cross pad to throw hooks and jabs or to dodge.
Ridiculously fun and if you play the game with a WiiFit Balance board...you'll likely feel it the next day. Unless you can't stand, there's no reason to use the alternate wiimote setup, but it's available too. The game was well thought out and the characters are as odd as in the original. Great game.
Wii(e) loved this game!!! I loved the original for the NES and this game was not disappointing! Me and my son both had a blast trying to figure out how to beat the many different foes! We are definitely going to buy this game now! A real pleasure. Definitely a must rent!!!!!!
I have played the original Punch out, and the SNES version to death. I have to say they didn't do anything to change the formula here. THIS IS GREAT! All of the old classic fighters are back, they all have 95% the same moves they had in the old versions. The Wii remote setup is not 100% accurate, so I suggest using the classic setup for more advanced play. This game has great personality best of all! 8/10
Die hard of the original? Then this game is for you. Revamped with past characters from the NES and SNES version of Punch Out. Punch Out Wii is a powerful 'knock out' in looks and game-play that would make any gamer drool. A must buy for any punch out fans.
Unless you can find it for cheap, punch-out is best rented. Sure it's decently fun to ko some stereotype, but the gameplay has not evolved since it's old nintendo days. It's a great test of reaction time, and not much more. New things this sequel has done hurt replay value, like allowing you to test-fight any character before you face them for real, RESTARTING mid-fight, not having to go through the circuit opponents back-to-back.. a perfect undefeated score is super easy to get.
If you want to play the exact game over again with better graphics, then this is for you. just don't try to use the wiimotion, timing is to important and they just aren't responsive enough.
